Teachers will now be paid for marking School Based Assessments SBAs.
There have been numerous calls for teachers to be compensated for the grading of the internal assessment component of several subjects, done by students sitting the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate CSEC Examinations.
Jamaica Teachers Association JTA president-elect Owen Speid, says this should commence as early as this month.
Noting that teachers are to be paid some $300 per script, Mr. Speid says the payment guidelines is to be fine tuned.
