Pop and country singer Taylor Swift took to her Instagram feed to discuss the song Lavender Haze which is dedicated to her partner, Joe Alywn. The track will be on her upcoming album Midnights.
The singer spoke about her relationship with Joe, who served as A major inspiration as she has had to “dodge weird rumors” and “protect the real stuff,” when it comes to her man.
Taylor said: “Lavender Haze is track 1 on Midnights. I guess theoretically when you’re in the lavender haze, you’ll do anything to stay there and not let people bring you down off of that cloud and I think a lot of people have to deal with this now, not just “public figures” but because we live in the era of social media and if the world finds out you’re in love with somebody they’re going to weigh in on it.
“Like my relationship for six years we’ve had to dodge weird rumors, tabloid stuff, and we just ignore it and so this song is about the act of ignoring that stuff, to protect the real stuff. I hope you guys like it.”
The album consists of 13 tracks and is set to drop on October 21.
