Swifties have done it again! Taylor Swift has broken yet another record!
Last week Friday (October 3), pop star, Taylor Swift dropped her new album called The Life of a Showgirl.
Since the release the album has been off to an incredible start, selling 2.7 million copies in the U.S. on its first day, according to Luminate. That’s the second-biggest sales week in modern history, right behind Adele’s 25, and the week isn’t even over.
The "Blank Space" singer also smashed her own vinyl record, moving 1.2 million vinyl copies in a single week, beating her 2024 release The Tortured Poets Department.
If Showgirl lands at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, Swift will score her 15th chart-topping album, officially surpassing Drake and JAY-Z for the most No. 1s among solo artistes. Only The Beatles have more.
Despite the numbers, TikTok trends say otherwise as numerous content creators are criticizing the project as Taylor's worst album yet! Several creators are calling it lackluster.
