SUSPECT IN COP’S MURDER FATALLY SHOT BY POLICE IN KINGSTON

A man suspected of being involved in the murder of Sergeant Averel McCollin in Gregory Park, St. Catherine last week, was fatally shot by police this morning.
He has been identified as 21-year-old Jeovannie Rodney, otherwise called ‘Pim Pim’ of Delacree Lane in Kingston.
Head of the St. Andrew South Police, Superintendent Kirk Ricketts said lawmen tried to arrest Rodney about 5:00am, as he was a person of interest in Sergeant McCollin’s murder.
Superintendent Ricketts said police are ramping up their investigations to make arrests in relation to Sergeant McCollin’s murder.
