Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls got off to a winning start at the 2022 Commonwealth games in Birmingham England.
This as they romped to a 72-43 victory over Whales at the NEC Arena.
Top shooter Janeil Fowler led the way with 32 from 33 attempts while Shimona Nelson supported with 29 from 30 attempts.
The Sunshine Girls who claimed the bronze medal at the last commonwealth games at the Gold Coast in Australia, led 16-12 at the end of the 1st quarter. The Sunshine Girls now turn their attention to their second game today where they face South Africa.
