Some stakeholders in the transport sector have welcomed the passing of the new Road Traffic Regulations.
The regulations were passed in Parliament yesterday (July 5).
Vice-Chairman of the National Road Safety Council, Dr. Lucien Jones said the new regulations will help to ensure safer roads.
Meantime, President of the Transport Operator Development and Sustainable Services, Egeton Newman said he is in full support of any measure aimed at reducing the number of crashes and deaths on the nation’s roadways.
According to the latest data from the road safety unit, 239 people have died in road crashes since the start of the year.
