Dancehall artiste Squash, born Andrae Maurice Whittaker, has been sentenced to 27 months in a US federal prison after pleading guilty to being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm.
Judge Roy Altman also ordered three years of probation and a US$100 fine.
Prosecutors cited videos showing Squash handling and firing weapons, including the pink modified Glock linked to his February arrest, while his attorney had requested a lighter sentence.
Following the hearing, Squash was remanded to US Marshals to begin serving his term.
Meanwhile, his father, Aaron Whittaker, remains in ICE custody following his September detention at a federal courthouse.
