The local live music series, Sound Check, conceptualised by event and content producer Carleene Samuels (aka Goddess Rockstar), kicked off their 2025 season last night, headlined by Skeng.
The concert was held at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Center, just up the road from its usual Dubwise venue. Coming off a stellar 2025 launch, Carleene reflected on Soundcheck’s 2024 season in conversation with The Zee.

The live music series, though promising to deliver the same vibes, is going to switch it up a little with fewer shows, focusing more on giving fans a great product.
Samuels shared more about the location of Soundcheck. Though 2025’s first staging took place at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre, the home will always be Dubwise.
Soundcheck, known for its exclusive lineups featuring Jamaica’s hottest talents, was headlined last night by Protocol deejay Skeng but had special appearances by dancehall greats Tommy Lee and Aidonia. The goddess rockstar shared with Zip Code the process behind the showcase’s acts.
As for Soundcheck’s headlining artistes to come, Carleene Samuels remained tight-lipped.
