The National Water Commission (NWC) says about 150,000 of its customers will see an increase in their bills this month.

The Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) last month approved the NWC’s application for a tariff adjustment.

In an interview on Monday, January 6, NWC President Mark Barnett said, while most of the company’s customers will not be affected by the rate adjustment, those to be impacted will see only about a four to five per cent increase on their bills.

Mr. Barnett noted that the increased tariff will help ease the NWC’s cash flow problems.

Meanwhile, the NWC president disclosed that work to repair the Ferry Pipeline is 90 per cent complete.

The pipeline, which supplies water to most of the Corporate Area, was damaged in December 2018 during repairs to the Mandela Highway.
