Soldiers Who Were Charged With 2010 Murder Of Businessman Keith Clarke, Acquitted

Share

The three soldiers tried for the 2010 murder of businessman Keith Clarke have been acquitted.

Justice Dale Palmer delivered the ruling this morning in the Home Circuit Court in Kingston.

He stated that Corporals Greg Tingling and Odel Buckley, along with Private Arnold Henry, did not have a case to answer.

The soldiers faced murder charges after Clarke was shot and killed at his home in St. Andrew during a police-military operation on May 27, 2010. The operation aimed to capture then fugitive Christopher “Dudus” Coke.

The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) expressed support for the soldiers, who have now been cleared of the charges.

In a statement this morning, the JDF said the verdict offers relief to the soldiers, allowing them to regain their freedom and rebuild their lives.
