Commissioner of Police Major General Antony Anderson says security forces will seek to target persons who have been creating problems in the police divisions in which the state of emergencies, SOEs were recently declared.
SOEs were declared this morning Clarendon, St Catherine North and South, St James, Westmoreland, Hanover, St. Andrew South and Kingston West, East and Central.
Speaking a press conference this morning, Major General Anderson said the security forces have gathered intelligence on various categories of criminals and will use the information gathered to detain them.
He noted however, that persons outside of the target group could also be detained depending on their actions. The commissioner assured that the detention of persons will be very specific and not arbitrary.
