Reggae Star Skip Marley has teamed up with dancehall stars Ding Dong and Masicka for a brand-new remix of his single 'Close'.
The single accompanied with a music video, dropped Friday, via Tuff Gong International/Def Jam Recordings.
In a statement, Skip desribes the single as 'modern', noting that it pays homage to Maxi Priest.
He says he loves the idea of bringing this great song to the new generation.”
The track, produced by Rykeyz (known for work with Jessie Reyez, Demi Lovato, and Wiz Khalifa), reimagines the classic hook from Maxi Priest’s 1990 hit Close To You, transforming it into a sultry, slow-burning reggae groove.
With the Close remix setting the tone for his next chapter, Skip Marley hints at more music and live performances on the horizon.
