Music producer Skatta Burrell addressed the incident involving Popcaan’s denial of entry to the Freedom Street concert on New Year’s Eve, explaining that it stemmed from the entertainer’s refusal to comply with the venue’s strict security protocols. Burrell shared in a social media post that the National Stadium enforces firm regulations, especially regarding firearms, requiring all weapons to be handed over at the gate.

Burrell clarified that promoters cannot override these security measures, as the rules are enforced to ensure the safety of all attendees. He emphasized that the National Stadium is unwavering in applying these protocols, regardless of the individual's status.

The incident gained attention after Popcaan voiced his frustration on stage during his performance, addressing the situation and directing comments towards the organizers.

Burrell later responded, reinforcing the necessity of adhering to the stadium’s policies and commending the security team for their diligence.
