Silver For Jamaica At Worlds; Fraser-Pryce Hangs Up Spikes

Jamaica battled for silver in the women's 4x400m relay final behind the United States in Tokyo. This, in a rain-soaked affair.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone widened the already big lead handed to her by Aaliyah Butler and the Americans finished in a championships-record 3 minutes, 16.61 seconds for a 2.64-second win over Jamaica.

In the men's equivalent, Botwana took the gold ahead of the USA and South Africa who both claimed silver & the bronze respectively.

Meantime, the 4x4 was followed by the 4x100m relay final where Jamaica finished 2nd to cop the silver medal in 41.79, behind the Americans who won the event in 41.75 secs. Germany claimed bronze in 41.87.

The race also marked a significant moment for Jamaica's multiple world and Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, who earned the final medal of her career before hanging up her spikes at the end of this season.

In the men's equivalent, The Americans copped the gold in a world leading 37.29, ahead of Canada, 37.55 & the Netherlands 3rd in 37.81 secs.
