Shyne Chimes in On Diddy Situation

Former ‘Bad Boy’ rapper turned politician, Shyne, shared his thoughts on the ongoing Diddy situation during a press conference in Belize.

The Belize native was asked on September 18 about his relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs and whether he had any prior knowledge of Diddy’s infamous “Freak Off” parties.

In response, Shyne, whose real name is Moses Barrow, said, “When I was an 18-year-old kid just wanting to make my mother and Belize proud, and to be recognised for my talent and take over the world, I was defending him [Diddy], and he turned around and called witnesses to testify against me. He pretty much sent me to prison... This is not someone I vacationed with or had a close brotherhood with. This is someone who destroyed my life, and yet I forgave him.”

He continued, “Do I take any joy in what he’s going through? Absolutely not. I’m different from others—no one needs to fail for me to succeed.”

Shyne was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his involvement in a 1998 nightclub shooting in New York, where he claims he took the fall for Diddy.
