Should American singer Dionne Warwick get a free pass from the Beyhive fans for what she said about fellow American singer Beyonce?

In an interview with online Essence magazine, Dionne said Beyonce is not yet an Icon.

“I have an admiration for Beyoncé Knowles… Carter now. Watching her growth has been quite refreshing. Now sustaining and becoming a big icon that a Gladys Knight, or a Patti LaBelle, or a Johnny Mathis, or a Frank Sinatra, or Sammy Davis Jr. is? I doubt that”

It seems that this statement was not appreciated by the Beyhive fan base because now there are users on Twitter who showed their disappointment in Beyonce’s fans for things they said about Dionne.

Some of these comments were:

“I’m a Beyoncé stan but what we’re not gonna do is drag living legend Dionne Warwick. You can disagree with her but the amount of disrespect I’m seeing is out of control. She paved the way for 90% of your faves.”

“Isn’t the reason we love divas is because they say things like Dionne Warwick did”

“Dionne Warwick can say what she wants. And you can listen or not. But she has the space to say what she wants about ANY artist. And all you say is, “Ok Ms. Dionne..”

Dionne has accumulated many prestigious awards such as Grammy awards, NAACP Image awards, Glamour award for Icons, RnB Foundation Pioneer awards.

Is this legendary status the reason she should get a free pass from Beyhive?

Remember back in March when American TV personality Tamera Mowry-Housley admitted she had a crush on Jay-Z before he was with Beyonce? This made the Beyhive swarm Tamera’s Instagram account, commenting bees emojis under her post.

How about back in April, when an alleged Beyhive fan threw a lemon at Arriana Grande during her Coachella performance. Apparently, the lemon signified Beyoncé’s 2016 Lemonade album, get it? According to Newsweek.com, Beyoncé was paid $4 million for her headlining act for this year’s staging of Coachella, while Grande was reportedly paid a whopping $8 million, likely because she was confirmed at the last minute after Kanye West fell through.
