International dancehall artiste Shenseea copped the MOBO (Music Of Black Origin) award for Best Reggae Act for 2021over the weekend.
Both Shenseea and MOBO made the announcement via their Instagram pages. MOBO wrote, “Huge congratulations on @Shenseea for winning BEST REGGAE ACT”.
The award show took place on Sunday, December 5, at The CBS Arena in Coventry UK. Attendees saw live performances and special guest appearances from some of the most exciting names in music and entertainment. Shenseea was not in attendance.
The MOBO Awards honors British and international talents in the musical fields of Hip Hop, Grime, R&B/Soul, Reggae, Jazz, Gospel, and Afrobeats. Shenseea was nominated along with Sean Paul, Spice, Popcaan, Skillibeng, and Lila Ike.
Last year Buju Banton took home the award after the release of his album Upside Down.
