Shenseea Eyeing Grammies

Last week, in a sit-down interview with international social media personality Bobbi Althoff, Shenseea shared her childhood dream of becoming a Grammy winner.

The “Hit & Run” singer also shared that along with the Grammy, she would also like to have a diamond record and a stadium tour.

With the 67th Grammy Awards slowing creeping up, Shenseea’s sophomore album, “Never Gets Late Here” has been submitted for consideration in the “Best Reggae Album” category.

Flava” which features American rapper, Coi Leray has been submitted for three categories: Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Melodic Rap Performance. While her single ‘Work Me Out’ which features Wizkid has been submitted for ‘Best African Music Performance’.

Shen’s last Grammy nod was in 2022, for her two contributions to Kanye West’s album called Donda, which was nominated for “Album of the Year”.

Meanwhile, Reggae Grammy submissions have increased from 65 to 75, with Shenseea among several Jamaicans hoping for a nomination for the 67th annual Grammy Awards, set to take place on February 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena.

Albums up for Grammy consideration include Spice’s Mirror 25, Shenseea’s Never Gets Late Here, Etana’s Nectar of the Gods, Romain Virgo’s The Gentle Man, Bugle’s Apex, Govana’s Legacy, Dexta Daps’ Trilogy, Masicka’s Generation of Kings, Rygin King’s Recovery, Samory-I’s Strength, Vybz Kartel’s Party With Me, Teejay's I AM Chippy, and Beauty in the Acoustic by former winners SOJA, among others.
