Jamaican sprint icon Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce received a hero’s welcome at Wolmer’s High School for Girls today (Thursday) as she was honored with the prestigious Key to the City of Kingston.
In a touching display of gratitude and generosity, Fraser-Pryce surprised her alma mater with a significant donation of US $50,000, equivalent to nearly JMD $8 million, to support student development initiatives.
The ceremony, hosted by the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC), not only celebrated her remarkable accomplishments on the track but also recognized her unwavering dedication to youth empowerment and community development in Jamaica.
The five-time World 100m Champion and three-time Olympic gold medalist described the event as a “full-circle” moment, expressing heartfelt appreciation for the honor bestowed upon her.
