The DJ MAC is earning praise after his WYFL rhythm sparked renewed excitement around juggling in dancehall.
International recording star Shaggy said he loves the energy the rhythm has brought to the local music scene, noting that it has encouraged many artistes to jump on the same beat and revive traditional dancehall juggling culture.
However, Shaggy said he is still waiting for a breakout hit from the rhythm that can cross international borders.
He also criticised gatekeeping in the industry and pointed to artistes like Skillibeng and Shenseea as key figures helping to push dancehall onto the global stage.
