The 2025 NAACP Image Awards have announced six nominations for the biographical film: The Bob Marley: One Love. Nominations include Outstanding Motion Picture.
The movie, which tells part of Bob Marley’s life story, will compete against films like Bad Boys: Ride or Die, The Piano Lesson, The Six Triple Eight, and Wicked.
Kingsley Ben-Adir and Lashana Lynch are nominated for their roles as Bob and Rita Marley, while director Reinaldo Marcus Green is up for Outstanding Directing. The film’s ensemble cast and its soundtrack, featuring Marley’s music, are also nominated.
The NAACP Image Awards will announce winners on February 22, 2025, during a live broadcast on BET and CBS.
In music, Skip Marley is nominated for his song Close, and Tyla’s Jump, featuring Skillibeng and Gunna, is up for Outstanding International Song. Past winners in this category include Koffee (Lockdown, 2021) and TEMS (No Woman, No Cry, 2023).
