Sean Kingston is seeking permission from a federal judge to leave South Florida for one night to perform at Summerfest 2025 in Milwaukee.
Kingston’s attorney reportedly filed the motion.
It comes after the singer was convicted of defrauding luxury vendors out of more than $1 million. Kingston has been on home detention since April.
His confinement followed a conviction on six federal charges, including conspiracy and wire fraud.
In a motion submitted by his lawyer, Zeljka Bozanic, Kingston explained that he has been unable to generate income while under home detention, as most of his job offers involve concerts outside of his district.
Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, were convicted of conspiracy in connection to a large-scale fraud scheme. Their conviction stemmed from scamming high-end vendors using fake wire transfer receipts and forged documents.
