The Principal of an infant school in St Andrew has been charged in relation to the illegal sale of Government farmland, near Clifton, St. Catherine to unsuspecting citizens.

Suelyn Ward-Brown is facing charges of breaching the Proceeds of Crime Act, breaching the Law Reform Fraudulent Transactions Special Provisions Act, as well as breaching the Common Law in Relation to Conspiracy to Defraud.

Police have indicated that three other persons of interest have been identified in the matter.

The charges come after the Government conducted a demolition exercise on the captured land, following reports that alleged criminals with links to the Clansman gang sold lots to residents who began to build their homes.

The Prime Minister had asked the Major Organised Crime & Anti-Corruption Agency and the Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch to probe the matter.
