Multi-award-winning Jamaican producer Rvssian is mourning the unexpected passing of his brother. The producer confirmed the heartbreaking news in an emotional statement posted today (July 28).
“Yesterday I found out that my brother suddenly passed away. It’s been hard to process, and I’m still trying to come to terms with it,” Rvssian wrote. “This is a very difficult time for me and my family. I may be quiet on social media for a while as I take time to deal with everything.”
Despite the grief, Rvssian also shared his intention to complete the upcoming Story Book Riddim, a project he began before the tragedy. “Even though things are heavy right now, I will do my best to complete it - out of respect for the artists who gave their time and energy to be part of it,” he said, thanking fans for their continued support.
Following the announcement, fans and industry peers have flooded Rvssian’s comments with condolences and words of encouragement. Among them was longtime collaborator and friend Vybz Kartel, who posted a heartfelt message to Instagram: “Condolences my brother, I wish you strength and courage.”
Rvssian has asked for privacy during this difficult time as he and his family grieve.
