With road fatalities expected to surpass 400 this year and with the holiday season fast approaching, the Road Safety Unit says it will be ramping up measures island-wide in an effort to reduce road fatalities.

Head of the Road Safety Unit, Kenute Hare says outreach operations will also be intensified across the country.

He says special attention will be given to certain areas which are crash zones especially for motorcyclists.

Noting that some 367 person have been killed on the nation’s roadways since the start of the year, Mr. Hare is urging persons to desist from the practice of drinking and driving.

He’s also appealing to families and community members to reinforce this message.
