The daily commute of residents of Gordon Town in St. Andrew will soon be made easier, as the construction of the retaining wall, along a section of the roadway which collapsed last year, is expected to be completed by the end of summer.

The Gordon Town Road was rendered impassable, after heavy rains associated with tropical storm Eta last year, caused a section of the roadway to collapse.

In an update yesterday (Mon), the National Works Agency, NWA, said steady progress is being made in repairing the roadway.

Communication Manager for the Agency, Stephen Shaw said the first 50% of the 74 feet wall, is now in place.
