In the latest update on the case involving American rapper Remy Ma’s son, 23-year-old Jayson Scott, he and his accomplice have been arraigned on an indictment for the allegations made against them for murder.
Last week, the Zee carried the story about Scott, who was charged with first-degree murder in relation to the death of 47-year-old Darius Guillebeaux. It is reported that Guillebeaux was shot following a dispute on June 7, 2021. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Scott was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, reckless endangerment, and four counts of criminal possession in New York on Tuesday (June 25).
Prosecutors believe that Scott was hired to kill Guillebeaux and now faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Scott’s co-defendant, Richard Swygert, was charged with second-degree murder, reckless endangerment, and four counts of criminal possession of a weapon. He faces up to 25 years in prison.
According to AllHipHop, Remy Ma claimed that her son was innocent, stating, “We stand by Jayson’s innocence and pray that the NYPD will conduct a complete and thorough investigation to reveal the truth. This is undoubtedly a difficult time for my family and me. While we sincerely appreciate the love and support we have received from all of you, we kindly ask for privacy as our legal team works to prove Jayson’s innocence. As his mother, I want to address this situation personally but have been strongly advised by his legal counsel not to say anything, as most people in similar situations are informed by their attorneys due to it being an active case.”
