The official funeral for reggae legend Jimmy Cliff will be held on Wednesday, December 17, at the National Indoor Sports Centre starting at 10:00 a.m.

Minister of Culture Olivia Grange announced the arrangements, noting that Cliff, born James Chambers in 1944, is being honored for his major contributions to Jamaican culture and entertainment.

The Office of the Prime Minister, the Culture Ministry, and Cliff’s family are finalizing the plans.

Grange said the ceremony will allow Jamaicans to honor “an outstanding son of Jamaica” and will feature spoken word, dance, and music, as Cliff requested.

Jimmy Cliff died on November 24, 2025, at 81, after complications from pneumonia.
