Jamaica’s under 20 reggae girls have been handed a tough draw in next year’s Concacaf under 20 Women’s Football Championship set to be staged in the United States between January 28 and February 9 in Texas and California.
The Jamaicans who finished at the foot of their group in the last edition in 2018 in Trinidad, have been drawn in group B’ where they will clash with defending champions Mexico, along with another Concacaf Giant Canada, and Caribbean neighbors St Kitts and Nevis.
The Reggae Girls will open their group B’ account on Wednesday, January 29, against Mexico at the HEB Park, in Edinburg, Texas.
Before tackling Canada on Saturday, February 1 at the same venue, and then close out their group against St Kitts and Nevis on February 4 also at Edinburg.
Meanwhile beaten finalist at the last edition USA, along with 2018 third place finishers Haiti, along with Costa Rica and Panama will face off in group A’, which will be played at the BBVA Stadium in Houston.
Following round-robin play, the first and second place finishers of each group will advance to the semifinals. The semifinal winners will automatically qualify for the tournament’s final, as well as the women’s Olympic football tournament Tokyo 2020.
The final will be played in Los Angeles, on Sunday, February 9.
