Ray J’s mother, Sonja Norwood, has addressed his recent health issues, clarifying that his heart problems are serious and not a “hoax.”
Ray J was hospitalized in January for pneumonia and chest pain and was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, a life-threatening condition that affects the heart’s ability to pump blood.
Norwood emphasized that he now has new limitations on his career and personal life and must rest to recover.
Ray J has previously shared that he may need a pacemaker or defibrillator and must avoid smoking and drinking while adjusting to his condition.
