It is being reported that rapper Kanye West was a victim of forgery and the price is a large sum.
According to TMZ, someone close to West knew he secretly contacted fashion designer Philipp Plein, who is staging a New York Fashion Week event on Monday, February 11. The guy misrepresented himself to Plein as Kanye’s rep and began negotiations for the rapper to perform at a very high price.
Plein apparently fell for the sham and made a deal wherein the rapper would be paid up to 7 figures and, in return, perform at the show.
The forger forged Kanye’s name on the contract and then had a $900,000 advance wired to an account, which he then promptly cleaned out.
According to reports, the individual is a former friend and associate of Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music.
