Public defenders take over D4vd’s case as his legal team withdraws

Share

R&B singer D4vd is now being represented by public defenders in his high-profile murder case after parting ways with his private legal team.

The decision came during a court hearing Monday, where D4vd, whose real name is David Burke, confirmed to the judge that he wanted the change.

His new attorney asked for more time to review the case, but the request was denied, with the judge entering a not-guilty plea on Burke’s behalf. He’ll remain in custody without bail, with the next hearing set for October 19.

Burke is accused of killing 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose remains were found last year in the trunk of a Tesla linked to him.
