Students and staff at the University of Technology, UTECH, this morning staged a protest at the University’s entrance over what they describe as the unsatisfactory government subvention to the university.

They are upset about the amount of money Allocated to the University and each student when compared to other institutions across the island.

UTECH’s Students Union issued the call to students to wear black to show their discontent with what they say is the disregard shown to the University by the government.

President of UTECH’s students union, Tia Ferguson says students feel slighted as they continue to receive inadequate support from the government.
