Prosecutors in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal trial have requested that the mogul be given at least 11 years in prison ahead of his sentencing this Friday.
The government filed a 164-page memorandum late Monday night that began a recommended sentence of no less than 135 months’ imprisonment, writing that Combs will “not be punished for any crimes of which he was acquitted, of course, but the punishment for his crimes of conviction must take into account the manner in which he committed them.”
The filing also stated that a substantial sentencing is needed because Combs is “unrepentant.”
Combs’ ex-girlfriend Cassandra Ventura, a key figure in the case, filed a separate letter to Judge Arun Subramanian stating that “his sentence should reflect the reality of the evidence and my lived experience as a victim.”
She wrote that she still has nightmares daily, and has spent the last seven years of her life rebuilding herself.
