Promoters have been given the green light to resume hosting outdoor entertainment events on July 21, but nightclub operations are still a no go.
Speaking in the House of Representatives Tuesday afternoon, Local Government Minister Desmond McKenzie said the new rules will allow events such as concerts, parties, launches, religious celebrations, and Jamaica Festival.
Such events will be restricted to a limit of 250 people, with up to 30 additional persons, such as production personnel or performers.
Mr. McKenzie said the restriction on entertainment events is being lifted for an initial two-week period, with events to be held at approved venues.
With that Said…We sought some feedback from members of the fraternity, who are in support of phase 1 of the re-opening process.
Here’s Dream Weekend and Xodus Director Scott Dunn.

Yesterdays and Mello Vibes Promoter Gyete Garte echoed similar sentiments.

Meanwhile, sound system selector Hottarice who’s also excited for the re-opening urges colleagues and patrons to observe protocols.

And here’s fellow selector Foota Hype’s 2-cents on the matter…

Patrons are expected to practice social distancing, continue wearing their masks, and sanitising.

Party responsibly!
