The production company at the center of the cancellation of this year's staging of he highly anticipated 2024 staging of Sting, is speaking out.
Isaiah Laing, head of Supreme Promotions Ltd., explained that the show could not proceed today after Clearsound Production Services Group, the contracted stage and sound provider, abruptly withdrew.
According to Mr. Laing, despite Clear Sound being fully paid and their equipment stationed at the venue since last Friday, the company informed him that it would remove its resources and personnel, leaving no time to secure a replacement.
Clear Sound Productions however, issued a statement to local media saying they were paid only 1 million dollars with the promise of the remaining 7 million dollars on the contract, to be paid on December 24.
The company said they withdrew from the event after the balance was not paid.
In videos posted to social media, Clear Sound workers and equipment were seen at the venue up until 2pm on the day of the event, with no other set up, to include security and parking, being  done for the event.
Sting Organizers said tickets purchased online will be refunded, and Mr Laing assured that the event would be rescheduled.
This marks the first cancellation in Sting's 40-year history.
