Prime Minister Andrew Holness says former Prime Minister Edward Seaga is under close medical supervision at a hospital in Miami, Florida.
88 year old Seaga is battling two chronic illnesses and complications associated with them.
Mr Holness, who visited Mr Seaga yesterday, said that he is in positive spirits considering the physical effects of his illness and treatment.
The Prime Minister said that Mr Seaga expressed his deep gratitude and love for the Jamaican people.
Mr Holness also says the former Prime Minister is under close medical supervision by a team of doctors including Jamaican specialists and nurses and is surrounded by his family at this time.
