Prime Minister Andrew Holness, in congratulation our female sprinters at the Olympics, said they have once again shown the world that we are a global superpower in athletics.
According to Mr. Holness, Jamaicans at home and abroad along with the rest of the world witnessed history, as our ladies delivered in magnificent style, a clean sweep of the 100 meter finals at the Tokyo Olympics.
Elaine Thompson-Herah won the final in an Olympic record of 10.61 seconds while Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was second followed by Sherika Jackson.
The Prime Minister continued by saying Elaine, Shelly-Ann and Sherika have etched their names and legacy among the great in global sports.
