Port Maria Residents Mount road blocks over Poor Road Conditions Water woes

Residents in Port Maria, St. Mary this morning mounted road blocks in protest over a lack of water supply and poor road conditions.

The protesters used old tyres and other debris to block roadways leading to several communities such as Free Hill, Bailey’s Vale, Highgate and Sand side.

The residents who are demanding a change in their predicament, say they have been suffering for far too long.

Meantime acting head of the St. Mary Police, Deputy Superintendent Kevin Francis says the roadways which were blocked by residents this morning have been cleared.

DSP Francis explained that his team partnered with the Jamaica Fire Brigade and the Jamaica Defence Force to clear the roadblocks.
