Carnival celebrations in St Andrew took a troubling turn last night (April 12) after a shooting disrupted the Big Wall party at Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre.
Early reports linked the incident to vlogger Jaii Frais and members of 450’s entourage, with videos showing a wounded man being rushed from the venue as panic spread among patrons.
As details emerged, it was revealed that Frais was also injured during the confrontation.
Police reports indicate that the shooting stemmed from a confrontation between Jaii Frais and Music Producer Jahvel “ Jahvy Ambassador” Morrison, during which other individuals intervened, leading to an escalation and the discharge of firearms.
The full circumstances remain unclear, and authorities are still piecing together what happened.
The incident has sparked widespread conversation online, with many pointing to rising tensions and unresolved conflicts spilling into public spaces meant for celebration.
Following the fracas, event organisers of Big Wall released a statement, saying they are “…deeply saddened and troubled by the incident…” and their “hearts are with those injured, their families and everyone who was present and affected.” The statement continued by saying that “the isolated act does not reflect the standards, spirit or values...” They also confirmed that they are cooperating fully with the Jamaica Constabulary Force and have begun reviewing security measures in collaboration with law enforcement and private security teams.
