The St. James police have increased their presence in sections of the parish, following several recent incidents, the latest of which resulted in the deaths of two men and the wounding of another in Mount Salem yesterday (Mon).
The identities of the deceased have not yet been released.
Reports are that just before 1:00pm, three men were standing along Crawford Street when persons drove up and opened gunfire before escaping.
All three men were hit, two of whom later succumbed.
Noting that they are following strong investigative leads into the incident, the St. James police say they are increasing their presence in the parish, amid a recent surge in crime.
