Police Federation Condemns Killing of Policeman in Spanish Town, St Catherine

The Police Federation of Jamaica has condemned the murder of a police constable in the Johnson Pen community in Spanish Town, St Catherine yesterday (July 19).

31-year-old Jermaine Brown was assigned to the Spanish Town police station.

Reports are that about 4: 50 pm, Constable Brown went to Johnson Pen in his private motor vehicle when gunmen pounced upon him and shot him several times. He reportedly died on the spot.

Chairman of the Police Federation, Corporal Rohan James told IRIE FM news that the police will not be deterred by this latest attack and will continue their efforts of ridding communities of guns, gunmen and gangs.

Corporal James added that steps will be taken to bring Constable Brown’s killers to justice.
