PM Seeks Legal Advice Following Latest IC Report

Prime Minister Andrew Holness has asked his lawyers to review the latest Integrity Commission report which linked him to a company that allegedly breached building laws, and provide further advice.

This, as he said he’s concerned that he is being targeted.

In a statement, Mr. Holness declared that he is not a director or shareholder of the company, which is the subject of the report, nor does he own the property in question.

As a result, he said he is puzzled as to why he is the subject of the report.

Mr. Holness’ statement said he has been informed that the development has been inspected by the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC), which has confirmed that the number of rooms approved is the number of rooms constructed.

He stated that based on the report, it is of grave concern that the investigators would ignore the statements given by the KSAMC which is the competent authority that they observed the development to be in structural conformity with the approved plan.
