Prime Minister Andrew Holness has revealed that one of the reasons for his visit to the United States is to address Jamaica’s security and crime issue.
Mr. Holness left the island yesterday (March 29), for a working visit to Washington DC.
During his visit, he is expected to meet with high level officials within the US government.
Speaking during an interview on the Great Day Washington Show this morning (Wed) on WUSA Channel 9, Mr. Holness said he will be seeking to strengthen relations with the US and also find solutions to issues such as illegal firearm entering Jamaica and lottery scamming.
Meantime, Mr. Holness gave an update on plans to make Jamaica a republic. He said the process has started.
