Police are investigating an alleged arson attack in Bell Rock, St. Andrew that destroyed seven homes, leaving more than 20 people homeless.
Prime Minister and Member of Parliament for St. Andrew West Central, Andrew Holness who visited the scene yesterday noted that the tragic incident stemmed from a domestic dispute.
He said the police are actively pursuing the perpetrator of the crime.
He assured that no effort will be spared in supporting the impacted families as they begin the long journey to rebuild their lives.
The Prime Minister noted further that the devastation he witnessed among the families was heartbreaking.
He said Jamaica must face its culture of violence head-on and recognize the profound harm it is inflicting on the nation.
The Prime Minister added that citizens must work collectively to restore peace and security in communities and collectively reject violence and those who would seek to mainstream and normalize it.
