Several players were rushed to the hospital this afternoon, after lighting struck the field during a DaCosta Cup game at the Charlemont High School play field in Linstead, St Catherine.
The incident happened during the game between Charlemont High School and Dinthill Technical
An assistant referee was also injured in the incident and taken for treatment.
The incident was caught on an Instagram live and shared on social media. Several spectators were seen running for cover while match officials helped the injured players and the referee to the hospital.
The game was called off after 30 minutes.
