Jamaica’s economy saw a 2.8% decline for the third quarter of this year, compared to the same period last year.
This was revealed during a press conference hosted by the Planning Institute of Jamaica on Wednesday.
The PIOJ said the goods producing industry decreased by 6.5 % while the services industry saw a 1.2% decline.
PIOJ’s Director General Dr. Wayne Henry said the decline was due largely in part to the impacts of Hurricane Beryl, in July.
