PFIZER VACCINES TO RESUME NEXT MONDAY

The Health Ministry is to resume the administration of Pfizer vaccines next Monday, November 1.

Health and Wellness Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton says approximately 145 thousand doses of the vaccine are expected in the island by the weekend.

85 thousand Jamaicans are due their second dose. Dr. Tufton acknowledges that there has been concern and unease among those awaiting their second dose, as there was uncertainty about when other shipments would arrive in the country.  

The shipment of 206 thousand doses of Pfizer vaccines from the United States, is expected next month.

Dr. Tufton also discloses that Suriname is providing more than 45 thousand doses and the COVAX facility will supply 100 thousand 6 hundred and 20 doses.
