The US Supreme Court has ruled that children born in the United States are entitled to birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment, rejecting efforts to end the longstanding constitutional right.

In a 6-3 decision, the court ruled that babies born to parents who are unlawfully or temporarily in the country are citizens at birth.
