Shadow Minister of Mining Phillip Paulwell, is calling on the government to provide an update about when operations at the Jamalco Bauxite plant in Clarendon, will resume.
Last month, sections of the plant, including the powerhouse were damaged by a massive fire.
Speaking with reporters recently, Mr. Paulwell said since the fire, the government has not provided a timeline for the resumption of operations at the facility.
He said if the plant should be closed, some 1000 persons will be affected.
